APC Convention: Abdullahi Adamu emerges new National Chairman

Senator Abdullahi Adamu has been declared the new APC chairman, late Saturday night.

He emerged as the consensus candidate of the party at the 2022 National Convention of the party held in Abuja.

Six other contestants stepped down for him, and after a voice vote, he was declared the winner.

The convention had in attendance President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, APC governors, former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu among others.

Abdullahi Adamu was born on 23rd July 1946, and he governed Nasarawa state from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007 under the platform of PDP.

After his tenure, he became the secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT).

In 2011, he was elected a senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District under the PDP. He was one of the founding members of APC.
