Mason Greenwood Return Rumors Not True – British Reporters

Sports

Diverse British reporters have affirmed that suspended Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood, has not returned to training.

According to SI.com, the 22-year-old player trended on Twitter on Friday over speculations that he is back in training.

Greenwood was arrested earlier this year, on January 31, for rape allegations, and he is presently on bail.

An 18-year-old woman accused him on social media of making threats to kill and assault her.

Subsequently, he was suspended from training and playing by the club.

He featured last for the Red Devils on January 22 when they defeated West Ham 1-0.

Last week, a British newspaper, The Sun, reported that Greenwood would know if he would face rape charges within some days.

However, British police have not filed any charges, perhaps, investigations are still going on.

Rumours Were False

Top British journalists have confirmed that the rumours were false.

Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler tweeted;

“Mason Greenwood isn’t back in training at Man Utd and there has been no change in his situation despite rumours circulating on social media.”

Another top reporter with BBC Sports, Simon Stone, says;

“No change to Mason Greenwood situation. Has not returned to training.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United will host Norwich today in its 32nd Premier League encounter.

United sits in the 7th position of the table with 51 points, a position below West Ham, which also boasts 51 points.

West Ham has a goal difference of +9 while United has +7.

Planned Protest

There is a plan by a supporter group to protest at the Old Trafford today.

The group plans to delay entering the seating area of the stadium until after 17 minutes of action.

This action is to protest the ownership of the club by the Glazer family.

The Glazer family has been in charge of the club for the past 17 seasons.
