Nigerian superstar, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has won the 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as the Best African Artiste of the Year.
The event, which was the 23rd edition of the award, took place on Friday night at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The first edition of the award took place in 1999.
Besides, other winners of the award include Fameye who won the ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award with his song ‘praise’.
Also, MOGBeatz won the ‘Producer of the Year’ award.
Other Nigerian artists nominated for the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award include Ckay, Tems, Fireboy Dml, and Joeboy.
