Dyson Daniels Signs $100M Contract Extension with Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels has secured his future with the franchise after reportedly signing a four-year, $100 million contract extension. The new deal, which runs through the 2029-2030 NBA season, highlights the team’s strong confidence in the young star’s potential and growth.

The Hawks officially announced the extension on Monday, though they did not disclose the financial details. According to reports, the agreement ensures that Daniels — one of the league’s top emerging defenders — remains a key piece of Atlanta’s rebuilding plans.

Last season, Daniels took the NBA by storm, earning the Most Improved Player award and finishing as runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year. He averaged 14.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and an impressive 3.0 steals per game across 76 appearances. His defensive prowess also earned him a spot on the All-Defensive First Team, cementing his reputation as one of the toughest perimeter defenders in the league.

The remarkable gap between Daniels and the runner-up, MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (131 steals), was the largest in NBA history — underscoring his dominance on the defensive end.

At just 22 years old, Daniels continues to evolve into one of the NBA’s most complete two-way players. His career averages now stand at 8.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game over 196 appearances.
